Maxwell House’s coffee beans are roasted and packaged for resale at Kraft’s Jacksonville, Florida manufacturing plant. It is during the roasting process that coffee beans develop their flavor and aroma; when the bean reaches a specific temperature, a chemical in the bean releases flavor compounds. Because these flavor compounds are released at different temperatures for each type of bean, it is necessary that the beans are exposed to uniform, consistent temperatures. Thus, in order to ensure each batch of beans reaches peak flavor, reliable combustion equipment is essential.
